Game overview

This strategic browser game developed by XS Software, allows you to embark on a journey through the confines of space all through your internet browser. The game lets you choose between one of three races each with their own history and specifications Other than their psychical aspects, they also differ by their abilities and characteristics.

Once your race is chosen the games takes you to your home base which is divided into three important areas: the mineral zone is your recourse hub, the industrial zone is mainly your economic headquarters and the military zone is your armory. The amount of buildings and vessels to construct is rather large leading to a very personal base. The war strategies you could implement are countless.

Graphically speaking, Nemexia is nothing special. The openness of outer space is a scene with plenty of charisma and it's a shame that this game chose to cluster and cover it with the interface.

Nemexia is an imposing competitor to other browser strategy games; it's well thought out, finds a good balance between difficult and challenging and if it weren't for the occasional letdown here and there it very well could be a masterpiece of its genre.

Full review

Every child at one point or another dreams of being able to go into space and explore the vastness contained therein. Well, Nemexia makes that dream come true, putting you into the captain’s seat of your own personal space fleet. The game gives us an adventure that will awaken your inner child .

Among the Star, in an Organized Fashion

Once the game begins the first thing to do is choose your race. Contrary to other games in the same genre, the races don't just differ in physical appearance they also have their own attributes and abilities. There's 3 races: the Noxis, the Tereths, and the Confederation which as you may have guessed, are the humans, who specialize in fast spacecraft and are able to regenerate. The Tereths are menacing androids capable of a special power called “Extra-force”. Finally we have the Noxis, tribal like aliens who use big hulking warships. Their specific power is the ability to freeze their enemies.

Once your choice is made, you're immediately sent to your planet to embark on your mission of being captain. As usual, the game begins with a tutorial to familiarize you to the game and explain your powers and resources.

Your base is divided into three parts: mineral, industrial and military.

The mineral zone is where you gather your resources and build any necessary equipment in order to do so. It's also where your resources are stockpiled.

The industrial zone is where you create structures and buildings in order to regulate your economic activity. It's filled with garage like edifices in which you can buy and resell ships and such. You also can upgrade your military and mineral zones' holding capacities here.

The military zone is where all the fun takes places. This zone is where you create your precious ships and weapons. You also carry out research from here, improving your abilities and techniques, gaining knowledge , and partnering alliances.

A Ship, A Passion

The developers put great care into the implementation of the ships. There's a pretty large amount of them and they vary from race to race in function and appearance. There are two types of spacecraft: civilian ships and military vessels. The civilian ships are quite fragile and not very effective in battle at all, however they are still essential to carry out certain missions and special tasks (such as the transport of resources from one point to another ). The military vessels on the other hand, are especially useful for offensive purposes. Each ship has its own advantage for encounters with each particular race.

A Good Amount of Ships, But Rather Ugly

The setting has its own charm. Being able to see the galaxies, planets and clusters of stars will always elicit a certain reaction to the players, although, to be honest, the graphics slightly weaken the impact of such a sight. The technical qualities of the game, due to this, are indeed lacking. The developers definitely put a lot of time into how this game looks, but it didn't turn out all that well.

Conclusion

Nemexia is an excellent strategy game in a space setting for your browser. Despite its small shortcomings, namely the graphics, it still presents variability and personalization, which everybody likes. Nemexia is definitely worth a shot.
